Carmen Walker Späh

Carmen Walker Späh is a member of the Liberal Party (FDP.Die Liberalen) and has been a member of the cantonal government and Director of Economic Affairs of the Canton of Zurich since May 2015. Prior to this, she was a member of the cantonal parliament for 13 years and served as a constitutional councillor for 5 years. In her capacity as Director of Economic Affairs, Carmen Walker Späh is also a member of the Board of Directors of Flughafen Zürich AG. 

Carmen Walker Späh was born in Altdorf (UR) in 1958 and studied law at the University of Zurich. After graduating, she worked in senior positions in the Department of Construction of the City of Winterthur, among others. From 2000 to 2015, she ran her own law firm specialising in public and private construction law. Carmen Walker Späh is married and has three grown-up sons.
