Prof. Andreas Güntner

Prof. Andreas Güntner is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Process Engineering, heading the Human-centered Sensing Laboratory. He is also a research associate at the Univ. Hospital Zürich, Dept. Endocrinology, Diabetes and Clinical Nutrition. The lab works at the intersection between chemistry, physics, and engineering to equip next-generation electronics with the sense of smell. They investigate new concepts in chemical sensing by leveraging nanotechnology and foster their integration into wearable or handheld devices. Their sensing concepts detecting and quantifying molecules at trace-​​level concentrations have applications in health, food as well as sustainability.
